Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail Interpretive Center

Enter the world of the early 19th Century at the Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail Interpretive Center. A 30-minute video by acclaimed filmmakers Ken Burns and Dayton Duncan sets the stage for your adventure. Journey through the Interpretive Center's exhibit hall and in less than an hour complete what it took the Lewis and Clark Expedition almost 28 months: the 8,000-mile exploration of the Missouri and Columbia river systems from St. Charles, Missouri, to the Pacific Ocean and back. Join the expedition -- offically called the Corps of Discovery -- as they encounter more than 50 Indian tribes and innumerable adventures. Participate in year-round live interpretive programs, some featuring costumed presenters. Entry fee.

Directions: Take U.S. Highway 87 to River Drive in Great Falls, Montana. Take River Drive to Giant Springs Road. Follow Giant Springs Road to the Interpretive Center.
